Revision History

This document was originally written by Mark Cheeseman VK2XGK with contributions from many Australian radio amateurs. A full list of contributors appears under the heading Acknowledgements below.

It was updated in November 1995 by Andrew Davis VK1DA. The main reasons for change were the revised amateur licensing structure in Australia introduced in 1995 by the Spectrum Management Authority (now Australian Communications Authority). HTML markup was added to allow the document to be placed on a web server and accessed in hypertext mode. Routine major and minor updates have been made since then, one in June 2001 by Peter Parker VK3YE and further updates were made to cater for the licencing changes resulting from the removal of the morse code test and the review of the Amateur Radio Service by the licencing authority.

The document was moved to VKFAQ.AMPR.ORG with the assistance of Carl Makin, VK1KCM, in 2004. This enabled it to have a more appropriate persistent URL and not be dependent on an individual ISP account.
